Tuition Assistance Deadlines & Forms
At Berkeley Hall, we are deeply committed to promoting socioeconomic diversity in our community. Families received $1.5 million for the 2023-24 school year in tuition assistance from kindergarten to 8th grade.
Berkeley Hall School partners with School and Student Services (SSS) where parents complete a Parents’ Financial Statement (PFS). The PFS gathers in one place all relevant information about family size, income, and expenses. SSS analyzes the information on the PFS and estimates the family's ability to contribute to educational expenses. The PFS must be completed annually.
In case of separation or divorce, both custodial and non-custodial parents are required to complete the school's Tuition Assistance process.
Tuition Assistance Timetable
The tuition assistance application process occurs at the same time as the admissions process. However, the decisions to accept and to award assistance are separate. Awards are made by the Tuition Assistance Committee and generally published on the same day as acceptances. The school maintains strict confidentiality for all tuition assistance decisions. Starting September 1, 2023, create an account by clicking on SSS (School and Student Services) then complete and upload online the following:

Complete online the Parents' Financial Statement (PFS) on the SSS website. Instructions are available under Downloads below. Berkeley Hall School's SSS Code is 2486.

Submit online copies of the following required documents:

2021 & 2022 Federal Income Tax Return (Form 1040) signed and dated with all schedules

2021 & 2022 W2 and 1099 forms
-
2023 End of Year Pay Stubs
By Monday, February 5, 2024 if you are applying for the first time OR
By Monday, April 16, 2024 if you are a returning Tuition Assistance family
Go to your SSS (School & Student Services) account and upload the rest of the required supporting documents:

2023 Federal Income Tax Return (Form 1040) signed and dated with all schedules. If you own a business, also upload a signed and dated copy of your 2023 Corporate Federal Corporate Return.

2023 1099 Forms, if applicable.
Last year all Tuition Assistance funds were awarded. Some applicants were not able to receive funds due to late applications or missing documentation. Please be sure to submit all documentation in a timely manner. The Tuition Assistance Committee will not review an incomplete application.
